The Band Squat

By Ashleigh Katzenmoyer

Start/Finish

Grasp the resistance band with both hands and assume a standing position with your feet overtop the bands. Your feet should be spread slightly wider than shoulder width and pointed slightly out, in line with your knees. Chest and back should maintain upright. Keep your knees soft, with a soft comfortable stance. Look straight ahead or slightly up, keeping eyes directly forward.

Action

Perform the band squat by lowering your hips and bending your knees, while keeping your torso upright. Lower your body, until you reach a full upright sitting position as well as maintaining spinal cord integrity. Remember, do not drop your elbows while holding the band across your traps and do not bend over like a good morning.
