John’s Supplement Protocol Explanation for Competition 2008
By John Rocco Quint

In bodybuilding and everyday life, it is extremely important to be getting all of the necessary vitamins and minerals so that the body can function at an optimal level. When the body is deprived of certain nutrients, then it will not function as efficiently as it could. On the other hand, if our bodies are supplied with the right vitamins and minerals, we will be able to function optimally and therefore put on muscle easier.

Protein comprises 80% of the body’s muscle and is what our body uses for building muscle, which makes it essential for the repair and growth of muscle tissue. Simply put, if you want to build muscle, then you must provide your body with sufficient amounts of protein.

Every time you lift weights and you feel your muscle expanding, it means that nitric oxide was released into smooth muscle, causing an extra surge in blood to your skeletal muscles. This surge of blood into the muscle is referred to as the “pump” in bodybuilding, and it is very important for building muscle. Basically, in laymen terms, NO2 products help the release of nitric oxide in the muscle, therefore giving you a bigger and longer pump. Most N2 products also contain caffeine, which can give you a mental pick up and help your mind stay more focused while training.

Post weight training session, it is vitally important to intake a fast absorbing carbohydrate for optimal muscle gain and recovery. Every time you lift weights, you are breaking down muscle fibers and burning muscle glycogen. In order for you to grow and recover, you need to replenish your muscle glycogen stores, and to do this you must intake a fast absorbing carbohydrate. The faster you give your body what it needs to build and recover, the easier it is to build muscle.
